WOMEN OF ACTION SPORTS: TARISH ZAMORA

Amidst the swelling waves, the sunset in vivid orange, and a line-up of surfers, you’ll find Tarish Zamora and her trusty camera. 

The La Union-based freelancer has countless photographs of surfers playing and thriving in their natural habitat. Tarish fell in love with surfing while pursuing her passion for surf photography. She became addicted to seeing and capturing the power of surfers in action. 

Loving the simplicity of the lifestyle, Tarish documents the elation and enlightenment that comes with surfing the waves. She’s a woman boldly expressing her love for the sport and its beautiful moments. 

GRIND: What’s the most epic thing about being a woman in action sports?

TARISH: Being a woman in action sports shows how powerful a woman is. She does the sport but does everything with grace. She’s able to focus on one thing despite all the other things on her mind. Imagine a woman on her period, feeling all weak, yet she’s still out there doing and performing the sport that she loves to do. That isn’t easy, but women are able to do it because we’re strong.

GRIND: Do you have any advocacy or passion projects?

GRIND: What advice would you give to a young girl who is just starting off in action sports?

TARISH: You do you. Don't be discouraged or intimidated to try out sports which may seem "manly" or difficult; because women can really do it too.

GRIND: Where do you see women in action sports 10 years from now?

TARISH: I see it growing and growing and not stopping at all. More women are supporting & encouraging each other, most especially now. And from the looks of it, I see more women representing different sports in different countries as well.
